Soulardarity
In 2011 DTE removed all street lights from Highland Park; Soulardarity is working to install solar-powered streetlights throughout the city. D2N worked with Soulardarity and Avalon Village to place one of five new, smart, solar-powered streetlights on Avalon (location of Avalon Village.) The streetlight also serves as a WIFI hub for a few-block radius.
Soulardarity is a key partner in The Highland Park Community Crisis Coalition (HPC3) They have set up and monitor HPC3's joint infrastructure for intake of needs, created a webpage for sharing information about what HPC3 is doing and how individuals and organizations can support and connect with their efforts.
