Starting in Diktel and ending in Bakachol (see map) the trip was 25 hours of walking uphill and another 15 of walking downhill. Aside from these ups and downs, it was a completely satisfying trip to Khotang. Along the way I met with scholarship girls, government officials, our nurse midwife, Jarka, and community members. I was thrilled to inspect the first three of nine schools that D2N has rebuilt, to see the current state of the next four schools to be rebuilt and to officially open D2N’s first birthing center and second health post, the Alex Graham Medical Clinic and Rakha Birthing Center.

I am grateful for a very successful trip and for all the support given to me by so many individuals and organizations.
