Parker Village
Parker Village is a social enterprise in Highland Park that partners with non-profits and other organizations to provide a variety of training, seminars and resources. Among other endeavors, Parker Village has started an urban farm complete with a hoop house and solar-powered irrigation and tool shed on the site.
Parker Village is a key partner in the Highland Park Community Crisis Coalition (HPC3). They have and will continue to provide a direct mail newsletter to Highland Park with critical information about the COVID-19 crisis, general community updates and how Highland Parkers can access HPC3 through the internet, calling or texting. Parker Village is one of two HPC3 food distribution sites.
In Spring 2021 350 raised beds from Buckets of Rain were moved to Parker Village, where they continued to provide fresh produce for Highland Park residents and continued the Clinic to Farm to Table program at the S.A.Y. Detroit Family Health Clinic.
